Script in Hand: The One Good Thing or “Are Ya Patrick Swayze?” at Westport Country Playhouse

The Script in Hand series continues with The One Good Thing or “Are Ya Patrick Swayze?”, a new play that explores themes of brotherhood, grief, and memory with humor and poignancy. Set in a small cottage above the Irish Sea, the story follows brothers Jamie and Tommy, whose daily routines are shaken when Jamie makes a startling revelation that casts their past in a new light. The play blends sharp wit, emotional depth, and a touch of the supernatural to ask what we carry, what we bury, and what we might finally let go.

Script in Hand playreadings offer audiences a unique theater experience, with actors rehearsing for just one day before presenting the work on stage with simple lighting and no set, leaving the audience to imagine the world of the play. Each performance is one-of-a-kind, created in the moment with the actors, director, and audience together.
