Schemitzun: Feast of Green Corn and Dance

Celebrate Native culture, heritage, and community during Schemitzun: Feast of Green Corn and Dance on Saturday, August 29, 2026, beginning at 9 am at the Mashantucket Pequot Cultural Grounds.

Hosted by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, this annual celebration features traditional and contemporary dance, live music, Native arts and crafts, cultural demonstrations, and Indigenous cuisine. The event offers visitors an opportunity to experience the rich traditions and vibrant culture of Native communities through performances, exhibitions, and interactive experiences.

Please note that the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center will be closed on August 29 in observance of the celebration. Shuttle transportation will be available throughout the day from the Museum parking lot to the powwow grounds for attendees.
