Three families from different backgrounds find their lives intertwined in New York City at the dawn of the 20th century in Ragtime, a Tony Award-winning musical exploring the American Dream, justice, family, courage and hope.
Presented at a time when Thomaston commemorates its 150th anniversary, this sweeping musical offers a powerful story of transformation and community. With music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and a book by Terrence McNally, Ragtime follows one Black family, one white family and one immigrant family as they navigate a rapidly changing nation and the unexpected connections that bring their lives together.
Performances are scheduled for October 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17, 2026, at 8 pm, with matinee performances on October 4, 11 and 18 at 2 pm. Admission starts at $26.50, not including fees.
Ragtime takes place at the Thomaston Opera House, 158 Main Street, Thomaston, Connecticut 06787. Tickets and additional event information are available online at CivicLift event page.
