Progress Flag Field at Palmer-Warner House

Spend time reflecting and celebrating unity at the Progress Flag Field on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the historic Palmer-Warner House in East Haddam.
This special installation honors the legacy of Frederic Palmer and Howard Metzger, who created a welcoming space for friends, family, and the LGBTQ+ community. Each flag placed in the field represents the diverse identities within the community and stands as a powerful tribute to those who fought for equality and the safe spaces that continue to nurture connection and resilience today.
Visitors are invited to sponsor a flag as an act of love, remembrance, or hope. Flags may be dedicated to celebrate someone’s journey, honor a life lost, or stand in solidarity with those still seeking acceptance. Each dedication adds a unique story to this visible symbol of support and belonging.
The Palmer-Warner House is located at 307 Town Street, East Haddam, Connecticut. For more information on sponsoring a flag and sharing a story, visit ctlandmarks.org or call (860) 247-8996.
