TheaterWorks Hartford presents Primary Trust, the 2024 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Eboni Booth, running from April 10 to May 11, 2025. This heartfelt and imaginative story centers on Kenneth, a 38-year-old bookstore worker whose predictable routine—mai tais at the local tiki bar—comes to an abrupt halt when he’s laid off. As Kenneth is pushed out of his comfort zone, he begins to confront the world he’s long avoided, leading to a journey of unexpected humor, deep connections, and emotional transformation.
Primary Trust is a moving exploration of friendship, change, and rediscovering the wonder in everyday life. Booth’s acclaimed writing offers a unique and touching perspective on what it means to start over.
Performances take place at TheaterWorks Hartford, located at 233 Pearl Street, Hartford, CT. Showtimes are Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 pm, Fridays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 2:30 pm and 8:00 pm, and Sundays at 2:30 pm. Please note that showtimes may vary.
