A sharp, thought-provoking comedy runs April 15 through May 3, 2026 at Playhouse on Park, 244 Park Road, West Hartford, CT 06119.
Based on a true story and the acclaimed book by John D’Agata and Jim Fingal, The Lifespan of a Fact explores the tension between truth and storytelling in a fast-paced, high-stakes newsroom setting. The play follows an ambitious intern tasked with fact-checking an essay by a celebrated writer—only to find himself locked in a battle between factual accuracy and artistic expression.
Written by Jeremy Kareken, David Murrell, and Gordon Farrell, the production blends humor and intensity as deadlines loom and perspectives clash. The result is a witty and compelling examination of truth, integrity, and the stories we choose to tell.
Directed by Matt Pfeiffer, the cast features Shannon Michael Wamser as John D’Agata, Suzanne O’Donnell as Emily Penrose, and Edward Montoya as Jim Fingal.
Preview performances take place April 15–16, with regular performances scheduled April 17 through May 3. Showtimes include evenings, weekend matinees, and select weekday performances. Special discounted morning performances will be held April 23 and May 1 at 10:30 am.
Tickets range from $35 for previews to $45–$55 for regular performances, with discounts available for seniors, military, and patrons under 40.
