Petra Poláčková – Classical Guitar Concert at Milford Arts Council

An evening of masterful classical guitar comes to Milford as award-winning Czech guitarist Petra Poláčková performs on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 7:30 pm at the Milford Arts Council, 40 Railroad Avenue South, Milford, CT 06460. Doors open at 7 pm.

Recognized for her expressive artistry and command of Baroque and Romantic repertoire, Poláčková began studying guitar at age six and trained at the Pardubice Conservatory before earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with honors under Prof. Paolo Pegoraro at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. She currently serves on faculty at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar and the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus/Aalborg. Her international appearances have taken her across Europe, the United States, Mexico, Chile, and Australia, and her acclaimed recordings include WEISS (2020), featuring works by Sylvius Leopold Weiss, and J.K. Mertz (Bridge Records, 2025), produced by David Starobin.

The New England Guitar Society, a committee of the Milford Arts Council, presents the concert as part of its mission to foster a supportive and inspiring environment for classical guitarists and enthusiasts. Known for its acoustically rich chamber hall, the Milford Arts Council provides an intimate setting for audiences to experience Poláčková’s refined musicianship and commanding stage presence.
