Penguin Run/Walk 5K at Mystic Aquarium

Lace up your sneakers for a day of fun, fitness, and wildlife conservation at the Penguin Run/Walk 5K on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 9 am. Participants can choose between a timed 5K run or a casual 2-mile walk while supporting efforts to protect endangered African penguins.

This unique event offers exciting perks for participants. Age-group winners in the 5K will receive one-of-a-kind artwork created by the aquarium’s penguins. Top individual and team fundraisers will win a special penguin encounter, and anyone who raises $500 or more for Mystic Aquarium will receive a penguin painting as a thank-you gift. Registration includes admission to Mystic Aquarium, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore and learn more about the animals you’re helping to protect. Event shirts will be available for purchase.

The Penguin Run/Walk 5K takes place at Mystic Aquarium, 55 Coogan Boulevard, Mystic, CT. Proceeds support the aquarium’s work to help save endangered African penguins.
