Open Hours: Weston at Work and the Coley House at Weston History & Culture Center

An interactive afternoon of local history takes place on April 26, 2026 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Weston History & Culture Center, 104 Weston Road, Weston, CT 06883.

Visitors can explore the hands-on exhibit “Weston at Work,” located in the historic Coley barn, which highlights the town’s agricultural, manufacturing, and textile history. The exhibit features engaging activities for all ages, including wool carding, weaving, and operating simple pulley systems, alongside historic tools, machinery, and photographs that bring Weston’s past to life.

Guided tours of the Coley House offer a step back into the 1940s, showcasing daily life on the home front during World War II. Guests can experience interactive elements throughout the home, from trying out vintage technology like rotary phones and typewriters to learning about family life, food preparation, and community during that era.

Additional exhibits in the Visitor’s Center include displays on the Weston Meteorite, the Flood of 1955, and other key moments in the town’s history. Visitors can also stroll the grounds, including the Daniel E. Offutt, III Sculpture Garden and the historic Coley Homestead.

Parking and entrance are accessed via High Acre Road. Regular open hours are Thursdays and the first and last Sundays of each month from 1 pm to 4 pm, excluding holidays.
