Oh, Mary! at The Bushnell

The Tony Award-winning Broadway sensation Oh, Mary! arrives at The Bushnell’s Belding Theater from September 19–23, 2026, as part of the 2026–2027 Broadway Season.

Written by Cole Escola, this acclaimed dark comedy reimagines the life of Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. The 80-minute one-act play follows a restless and deeply unhappy Mary as she grapples with unfulfilled dreams, suppressed desires, alcoholism, and a growing sense of frustration. Told through a wildly inventive and comedic lens, the production offers a fictionalized look at one of history’s most recognizable First Ladies.

Hailed by The New York Times as “one of the best comedies in years,” Oh, Mary! has earned widespread critical acclaim, receiving two Tony Awards, including Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton. The production also received Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Direction of a Play, a special citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle, and recognition as a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Drama.

Performances will be held at the Belding Theater at The Bushnell, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106.

Performance Schedule:

• Tuesday, September 22 at 7:30 pm
• Wednesday, September 23 at 7:30 pm

Tickets range from $69 to $208.50.
