New Haven Ballet Presents The Sleeping Beauty at Shubert Theatre

A magical afternoon of dance and storytelling will take the stage when New Haven Ballet presents a special children’s edition of The Sleeping Beauty at the Shubert Theatre on Saturday, May 23, at 1 pm. Thoughtfully adapted for young audiences and families, the production captures the beauty and wonder of the classic ballet while offering an accessible and engaging theatrical experience.

Set to the celebrated score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, The Sleeping Beauty follows a timeless tale of fate, courage, and transformation in an enchanted kingdom shaped by fairies and royal destiny. The performance is part of a mixed bill that also features works by New Haven Ballet’s Shared Ability artists alongside contemporary and Broadway-inspired pieces, showcasing the diverse talents of the School’s dancers.

The production includes performers ages 4 through 18, giving audiences the opportunity to experience dancers at every stage of their training performing together in a professional theater setting. Presented by Artistic Director Lisa Kim, the family-friendly performance is well suited for both first-time theatergoers and longtime ballet enthusiasts.
