National Trails Day at Shore Line Trolley Museum

Celebrate National Trails Day with a guided walk through Beacon Hill in Branford, hosted by the Shoreline Greenway Trail and The Shore Line Trolley Museum on Saturday, June 7, 2025, beginning at 10:00 am. This engaging outdoor event offers a unique look into the geology, ecology, and history of one of Connecticut’s scenic treasures.
Participants will begin their journey with a scenic trolley ride from the Shore Line Trolley Museum to the trailhead. The guided walk highlights Beacon Hill’s rich geological formations shaped by ancient glacial and tectonic activity, as well as its quarrying past. Along the trail, walkers will experience diverse plant and animal life, including native hardwoods, wildflowers, and bird habitats, all preserved through ongoing conservation efforts.
The route features picturesque views of Long Island Sound from the summit, making it a rewarding destination for hiking, birdwatching, and nature appreciation.
