Midsummer Festival Open House at Florence Griswold Museum

The Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme will welcome guests for a festive day of art and family-friendly activities during the Midsummer Festival Open House on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Visitors can explore the museum’s historic Florence Griswold House and view two current exhibitions in the Krieble Gallery—Nancy Friese: Living Landscapes and Cow Tales. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about the museum’s history through the Griswold Boardinghouse for Artists, c. 1910, which captures the spirit of the Lyme Art Colony.
A free public gallery talk will take place at 2:00 pm. Throughout the festival hours of 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, families can enjoy hands-on crafts in the Hartman Education Center at no cost. Additional festive activities include face painting and fairy hair by April’s Balloon Creations, available for a fee.
This event is part of Old Lyme’s Midsummer Festival, produced by the Old Lyme Arts District. Admission is free for the day’s special open house. The Florence Griswold Museum is located at 96 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, Connecticut.
