Member Perk: Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden at Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden

Mattatuck Museum members are invited to enjoy a special summer outing to the Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden on July 23, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm. This exclusive member experience offers an opportunity to explore one of Connecticut’s most fascinating historic properties, where centuries of history and horticultural beauty come together.
Located in Bethlehem, Connecticut, the Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden reflects the distinct legacies of two remarkable chapters in American history. Originally built around 1754 by Reverend Joseph Bellamy, a prominent leader of the Great Awakening, the home later became the residence of the Ferriday family, who purchased the property in 1912 and transformed the grounds into a celebrated garden destination.
Visitors will have the chance to explore the historic house and stroll through the formal gardens, which feature historic-style roses, peonies, lilacs, and other seasonal plantings. The site offers a unique glimpse into both colonial history and twentieth-century garden design, making it a memorable destination for history enthusiasts and garden lovers alike.
The Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden is located at 9 Main Street North, Bethlehem, CT 06751. This program is offered as a special benefit for Mattatuck Museum members.
