Maple Day at the Stanley-Whitman House

March 10, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Maple Day at the Stanley-Whitman House

Maple Day at the Stanley-Whitman House will be held on Sunday, March 10th.

The process of turning maple sap into maple syrup is a cherished tradition in Connecticut. The educational Maple Day program features tapping a maple tree for sap and boiling maple tree sap over an open fire as part of the sugaring process demonstrated by historic re-enactor Denis Picard.

Clatter Ridge Farm will also be here with local maple syrup. The historic house will be open for tours and the Welcome Center will host activities for visitors related to harvesting maple sugar and other winter activities undertaken by people of colonial Farmington.

This event is family-friendly and is free. Tours of the historic house are free for members and can be added on for nonmembers at the regular rate.
