Lunch and Learn – From Winchester to War: The Story of Lewis Hazzard of the 29th Connecticut at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

The life and legacy of Civil War soldier Lewis Hazzard will be explored during the virtual presentation Lunch and Learn – From Winchester to War: The Story of Lewis Hazzard of the 29th Connecticut on June 23 from 12 pm to 1 pm.
Presented by genealogist and historian Sandra Taitt Eaddy, the program will trace Hazzard’s story from his family roots in Rhode Island and Winchester, Connecticut, to his service in the 29th Connecticut Colored Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The presentation will examine his enlistment, military service, and the circumstances surrounding his death while also highlighting how genealogical and historical research can uncover the lives and contributions of individuals whose stories are often overlooked in history.
The virtual event is free and open to the public. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link.
