Lunarfest 2026 – Year of the Horse in New Haven

New Haven welcomes the Lunar New Year with Lunarfest 2026, the state’s largest Lunar New Year celebration, presented by the Yale-China Association. Celebrating the Year of the Horse, the festival highlights cross-cultural exchange through a full day of performances, demonstrations, and community activities. Festivities begin with a lively morning parade featuring a traditional lion dance, Chinese dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, and remarks from local community leaders, setting the tone for a day rooted in cultural tradition and shared celebration.
Lunarfest takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. The parade travels along Whitney Avenue between Grove Street and Trumbull Street, with additional free activities hosted at multiple locations throughout New Haven. Admission is free and open to the public. A complete schedule of events and participating venues is available at yalechina.org/lunarfest. For more information, contact lunarfest@yalechina.org.
