Join us as we hike in Macedonia Brook State Park. The 2,300-acre Macedonia Brook State Park originated as a gift from the nearby White Memorial Foundation in 1918. Once the home of cider, grist, and sawmills, in addition to a substantial local iron-ore industry, the park’s interesting terrain now offers several excellent hiking trails. The Blue Trail crosses Cobble Mountain and several other peaks, offering views of the Catskills and Taconic mountains.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate.
WHERE TO MEET: 159 Macedonia Brook Road, Kent, CT, in parking lot just past the ranger’s station, across from the pavilion.
WHAT TO BRING: Weather-appropriate clothing (layers, no cotton), waterproof footwear, day pack with extra clothes, snacks, lunch, water, personal medications.
OPTIONAL RECOMMENDED ITEMS: Sunglasses, binoculars, camera.
