Live from the Boathouse: Tammy Denease Presents The Connecticut Freedom Trail: Riverside History at Connecticut River Museum

This program features Tammy Denease, Outreach Director of the Connecticut Freedom Trail, who will discuss the history and significance of the Connecticut Freedom Trail and her work identifying and promoting historic sites tied to the struggles and achievements of African American and other minority communities in the state. The talk reflects on the legacy of the Emancipation Proclamation, the creation of the Freedom Trail in 1995, and the importance of preserving a full and accurate record of Connecticut’s past. The lecture is offered both in person and virtually, with registration required to access the livestream.
The event takes place on December 3, 2025, from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Connecticut River Museum, with virtual attendance also available. Admission is free for members and $5 for non-members.
