Lary Bloom, Author of Sol LeWitt: A Life of Ideas at RJ Julia Booksellers

RJ Julia’s Booksellers is thrilled to host Lary Bloom for a riveting discussion of his new book, Sol LeWitt: A Life of Ideas. Bloom will be at RJ Julia Booksellers in Madison on Tuesday, May 7th at 7pm and at Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore in Middletown on Wednesday, May 8th at 7pm.

Lary Bloom will discuss Sol LeWitt: A Life of Ideas, his biography of Sol LeWitt, who upended how art is traditionally made and marketed and became one of the most influential artists of the 20 th century. LeWitt, having refused to participate in the culture of celebrity, has remained an enigma, but Bloom draws on his own personal memories of LeWitt—whom he knew in the last years of the artist’s life – as well as letters, papers, and over one hundred interviews with LeWitt’s friends and colleagues to deepen our understanding of this important artist.

Lary Bloom, a Connecticut resident and nationally esteemed author, is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Connecticut Center for the Book. He cofounded Writing at the Mark Twain House and has taught writing at Yale University, Fairfield University, Trinity College, and Wesleyan University.
