Land Acknowledgment Workshop with Dr. Tarren Andrews at Fairfield University

Fairfield University welcomes Dr. Tarren Andrews for an engaging and reflective Land Acknowledgment Workshop on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the Kelly Center.

During this event, Dr. Andrews will lead a thoughtful discussion about the purpose and practice of land acknowledgment statements—what they signify, how they can move beyond symbolism, and how institutions can use them as a meaningful starting point for deeper engagement. Drawing from her experience helping to craft the land acknowledgment statement at the University of Colorado–Boulder, Dr. Andrews will guide participants through an interactive workshop to explore what a land acknowledgment might look like for Fairfield University as a Jesuit, Catholic institution.

This event is open to all members of the campus community and encourages open dialogue, reflection, and collaboration in envisioning a more inclusive future.

The workshop will take place at Fairfield University Art Museum, Kelly Center, 1073 North Benson Road, Fairfield, Connecticut.
