Kate Classic Film: The Lion in Winter at Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center

Step back into 12th-century England with a screening of The Lion in Winter at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook. This 1968 period drama stars Katharine Hepburn in her third Oscar-winning performance alongside Peter O’Toole, depicting the intense power struggles of Eleanor of Aquitaine and King Henry II as they determine which of their sons will inherit the throne. Featuring early performances by Sir Anthony Hopkins and Nigel Terry, the film is a riveting exploration of personal and political intrigue set against the backdrop of medieval Europe.
