Jazz: Charlie Apicella & Iron City at Palace Theater

An evening of live jazz arrives at the Palace Theater on May 29, 2026 with performances at 7 pm and 9 pm featuring Charlie Apicella and Iron City.

Based in New York City, Charlie Apicella is known for his blend of hard bop, blues, and soul-infused jazz guitar. The concert highlights music from LIVE in NYC, his tenth release, featuring original compositions alongside interpretations inspired by jazz and Latin music traditions.

Joining Apicella for the performance are Brad Whiteley on organ, Austin Walker on drums, and Mayra Casales on congas.

Apicella has been recognized in the DownBeat Readers Poll and has collaborated with notable artists including Dave Holland, Sonny Fortune, Avery Sharpe, and members of the Sonny Stitt Legacy Band. Beyond performance, he is also known for his educational and historical work preserving blues and jazz traditions through partnerships with organizations including Lincoln Center and the Newport Jazz Festival.
