Jason Reynolds at Cheshire Academy

Award-winning author Jason Reynolds will visit Cheshire Academy on Tuesday, September 29, as the keynote speaker for the school’s annual All School Read program. The event will feature a moderated discussion and Q&A from 9 to 10 am, followed by a book signing from 10 to 10:30 am.

Reynolds is the 2024 MacArthur “Genius” Fellow and a Newbery Medal-winning author known for works including Long Way Down, Ghost, and Marvel’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man. His writing explores identity, community, and the experiences of young people.

As part of Cheshire Academy’s All School Read program, every student read Long Way Down during the summer, providing an opportunity to engage directly with the author and discuss the work they studied. The program was recognized by the National Council of Teachers of English in 2024 for its immersive approach to building community through literature.

The event is not open to the public.
