Independence Day Boat Parade at Connecticut River Museum

Patriotic celebrations take to the water during the Independence Day Boat Parade at the Connecticut River Museum on Saturday, July 4, 2026. This family-friendly afternoon combines history, entertainment, and waterfront views as decorated boats make their way along the Connecticut River in honor of Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary.

Visitors can explore the Museum’s exhibits, take part in a children’s activity, and enjoy the excitement of the parade, which begins at 2 pm. The festivities also feature the dramatic sound of cannon fire and a variety of festive boat displays that showcase community spirit on the river.

The Museum will be open from 12 pm to 3 pm. In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, admission to the Connecticut River Museum will be discounted by $2.50 for this special event.
