Imagining Futurities: A Symposium in Honor of Hazel Carby at Humanities Quadrangle

The two-day symposium Imagining Futurities continues Saturday, November 7, from 9:30 am to 5:15 pm at the Humanities Quadrangle, Room L01, 320 York Street. Presented in honor of scholar Hazel Carby, the free event celebrates her influential contributions to American studies, Black studies, cultural studies, and the study of colonialism and empire.
During her career, including 30 years as a faculty member at Yale, Carby developed a body of scholarship that helped shape intellectual conversations across these fields. The symposium offers an opportunity to recognize her lasting impact and reflect on the ideas her work has brought to academic and cultural discussions.
