I Wrote That! Author Talk: In Conversation with Martha Hall Kelly at Palace Theater

New York Times bestselling author Martha Hall Kelly discusses her writing career, creative process and the inspiration behind her acclaimed novels during an intimate author conversation at Palace Theater on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 7 to 9 pm. The discussion is moderated by Scot Haney.

Kelly is the author of Lilac Girls, Lost Roses, Sunflower Sisters and The Martha’s Vineyard Beach and Book Club. Her books have sold more than two million copies and have been published in 50 countries, earning her a wide readership for her historical fiction and character-driven storytelling.

During the conversation, Kelly will share stories from her path to becoming a novelist and discuss the experiences and ideas that have shaped her writing. Her upcoming novel, More Than Famous, about a famous musical couple from the 1970s whose relationship ended mysteriously, is scheduled for publication in May 2027.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Kelly earned journalism degrees from Syracuse University and Northwestern University before working for many years as an advertising copywriter. She now divides her time between Litchfield, Connecticut, Hobe Sound, Florida, and New York City.

The conversation is moderated by Scot Haney, a meteorologist on Eyewitness News This Morning and co-host of Great Day Connecticut on WFSB. I Wrote That!
