HSO POPS! Series: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas at The Bushnell

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra will bring Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas to life as part of its 2025–2026 POPS! Series. This beloved 1993 stop-motion animated film, directed by Henry Selick and based on Burton’s original characters and poem, follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, as he seeks something new beyond his usual scare-and-scream routine. His fascination with Christmas leads him to hatch a plan to take over the holiday, but his well-meaning mission soon spirals into chaos.

Rated PG, the film blends enchanting visuals, a whimsical yet haunting story, and Danny Elfman’s unforgettable score. This live orchestral presentation will immerse audiences in Jack’s journey to bring Christmas to Halloween Town—with spectacular music performed by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
