The Hartford Symphony Orchestra brings the magic of The Princess Bride to life in a unique cinematic concert experience on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at The Bushnell in Hartford.
Fans of the classic 1987 film can relive the adventure, romance, and humor of this beloved story as the full symphony orchestra performs Mark Knopfler’s unforgettable score live-to-picture. Directed by Rob Reiner, The Princess Bride stars Robin Wright, Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn, and André the Giant, among others.
The film follows the tale of Buttercup and her true love Westley in a story filled with fencing, giants, miracles, and one inconceivable rescue.
