HSO Masterworks Series: Romeo and Juliet: A Theatrical Concert at The Bushnell

Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy is reimagined through music and theater during this immersive concert experience presented by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Created in collaboration with Concert Theatre Works and director Bill Barclay, Romeo and Juliet: A Theatrical Concert blends live orchestral performance with costumed actors, dynamic staging, and onstage sword fighting, transforming the traditional symphonic concert into a fully theatrical event. The program features Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture alongside music by Prokofiev, Berlioz, and Nino Rota, bringing new depth and drama to the beloved story.

Performances take place at The Bushnell, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT, on February 13 and 14, 2026, at 8:00 pm, and February 15, 2026, at 3:00 pm. Tickets are sold through the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
