HSO Masterworks Series: Mozart & Mendelssohn at The Bushnell

A sweeping orchestral program takes place May 8–10, 2026 at The Bushnell, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106.

Presented by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra as part of its 2025–2026 Masterworks Series, Mozart & Mendelssohn offers a rich musical journey through color, emotion, and landscape. The concert opens with Anna Clyne’s Color Field, a contemporary work inspired by the vivid expression of abstract art.

HSO Principal Clarinetist Sangwon Lee takes the spotlight in Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major, a graceful and expressive piece that highlights the composer’s affinity for the instrument. The program concludes with Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3, the “Scottish,” a dramatic and atmospheric work inspired by the landscapes and spirit of Scotland.

Performances take place at 8 pm on May 8 and May 9, with a 3 pm matinee on May 10.
