The Hartford Symphony Orchestra presents Dvorák and Rachmaninoff as part of its 2025–2026 Masterworks Series, featuring a program of breathtaking beauty and emotional depth. Conducted by Adam Kerry Boyles, the concert pairs two of the most expressive works in the orchestral repertoire.
Cellist Tommy Mesa takes center stage for Dvorák’s Cello Concerto in B minor, a romantic masterpiece renowned for its sweeping melodies and introspective lyricism. The program continues with Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2, a lush, dramatic work filled with the composer’s hallmark passion and grandeur. Boyles’ interpretation promises a captivating exploration of both composers’ emotional worlds, uniting the warmth of Dvorák’s Bohemian spirit with Rachmaninoff’s soaring romanticism.
Performances will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 8:00 pm; Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 8:00 pm; and Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 3:00 pm at The Bushnell, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut.
