Hopper (Encore) at The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center

This encore presentation of FRAMES in FILM: Hopper: An American Love Story takes an in-depth look at one of America’s most recognizable and influential artists. The documentary explores Edward Hopper’s life, artistic evolution, and complex personal relationships, tracing his journey from a struggling illustrator to a celebrated painter whose work has shaped generations of artists, filmmakers, photographers, and musicians.
Through expert interviews, diary excerpts, and striking visual storytelling, the film examines Hopper’s marriage, his creative process, and the enigmatic personality behind some of the most iconic images in American art. Released in conjunction with the major exhibition Edward Hopper’s New York at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the film offers a rich reflection on American life as seen through Hopper’s distinctive lens. The screening will be shown on The Kate’s BIG Screen, with a runtime of approximately 90 minutes.
