Historic Homes of Housatonic Valley Tour in Southbury

Historic architecture and fascinating local history take center stage during the Historic Homes of Housatonic Valley Tour, happening Saturday, April 5, 2025, beginning at 1 pm. This four-hour guided experience offers a rare chance to explore the interiors of several private historic homes in Southbury, Connecticut, along with exterior visits and stories of many more.
Southbury, a designated “Preserve America” community, is home to a rich tapestry of historic residences, from Colonial farmhouses and Civil War-era homes of a mill village to rustic summer cottages built by Russian refugees. Guests will learn about the architecture that has shaped the area for generations and the notable individuals who once lived there.
The tour is self-driven, with participants following a scheduled itinerary in their own vehicles. A guide will be on hand to provide detailed narratives at each location, offering insights into the architectural styles and historical significance of each stop. This one-time-only event is limited in capacity.
