A Haunted Evening with John Zaffis & Seaside Shadows will be held on September 7th at the Garde Art Center in New London
There will be three time slots:
- 6:00 – 7:45 PM
- 8:15 – 10:00 PM
- 10:30 PM – 12:15 AM
This event is a fundraiser for the non-profit, historic Garde Arts Center with proceeds going to continuous preservation of this beautiful community gem. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour.
John Zaffis has been nicknamed “The Godfather of the Paranormal” for his expertise in the world of hauntings over the past 30 years. Having trained as a young man with Ed and Lorraine Warren (his aunt and uncle), he gained authentic insight into a world of history and mystery. John dedicated his life to the research of ghosts, the art of spirit communication and scientific proof of the unexplained. In recent years, SyFy & Destination America show, followed the investigations of Zaffis and his team as they researched relics and items causing unexplained activity in homes, businesses, libraries and more.
The 1400-seat Garde Theater opened in September of 1926 as a Photoplay (silent film) and vaudeville theater. The Garde, deemed one of the finest theaters in New England, sits on a storied property that once housed the mansion of whaling merchant, William Williams. Spooky occurrences have been reported throughout the theater: phantom guests sitting in seats, ushers and hosts who have long since passed welcoming people, and audio recordings of show announcements coming from empty rooms. Some believe that the previous residents of the mansion also wander the halls of the theater as well.
