Get Out On The Water at Mystic Seaport Museum

Mystic Seaport Museum invites visitors to enjoy the timeless thrill of being their own captain with its seasonal small craft program, Get Out On The Water. From May 1 through October 31, 2025, guests can take the helm aboard traditional small boats and experience the scenic beauty and maritime heritage of Mystic from the water.

This hands-on activity is a unique way to connect with New England’s seafaring past while exploring the museum’s historic waterfront. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or trying your hand at boating for the first time, this program offers an unforgettable opportunity to navigate a classic craft and appreciate the tranquil sights of Mystic’s river and harbor.

Get Out On The Water is available during regular museum hours, weather permitting. Boats are launched from the museum’s waterfront area, and all safety equipment is provided.
