Furniture Study Highlights Tour at Yale University Art Gallery

A behind-the-scenes look at American design takes place on April 10, 2026 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the Collection Studies Center, Yale West Campus, 900 West Campus Drive, West Haven, CT 06516.

This one-hour, in-person tour offers access to the Leslie P. and George H. Hume American Furniture Study Center, home to more than 1,300 examples of American furniture and clocks spanning the 17th century to the present. Visitors will also encounter an impressive collection of contemporary wood art within this state-of-the-art facility, which opened in 2019.

Led by knowledgeable staff, the tour provides insight into craftsmanship, historical context, and the evolution of American furniture design, making it an engaging experience for both enthusiasts and newcomers.

Advance registration is required, and space is limited. Registered guests will receive a confirmation email with directions to the site, where free parking is available. Unregistered visitors cannot be accommodated.
