Fools Rush In at Yale University Art Gallery

December 3 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Fools Rush In at Yale University Art Gallery

This gallery talk explores the extraordinary printmaking of Francisco Goya through his haunting series Los disparates (The Follies). Freyda Spira, the Robert L. Solley Curator of Prints and Drawings, highlights how Goya used aquatint and etching to portray a unsettling world shaped by political and religious turmoil. The series’ twilight atmosphere and surreal, often nightmarish scenes offer a striking lens into human behavior and its absurdities.

The program takes place on December 3, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Attendees should meet by the central column in the lobby of the Yale University Art Gallery. Space is limited.
