Family Storytime – America250 at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

July 5 @ 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Family Storytime – America250 at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

Young readers and their families can celebrate America’s 250th anniversary during Family Storytime – America250 at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History on July 5, 2026.

This special storytime program invites children and caregivers to relax on beanbags and enjoy a reading of a book connected to the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration. After the story, families will take part in a creative activity inspired by objects from the museum’s collection, designing their own unique way to commemorate an important event or milestone.

Designed especially for children under the age of 10, the program combines storytelling, creativity, and history in an engaging and family-friendly setting. It offers a fun opportunity for young learners to explore how people remember and celebrate significant moments in their communities and across the country.

Family Storytime – America250 will take place from 3 pm to 3:30 pm on July 5, 2026, at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford, CT 06105.

The program is free and operates on a drop-in basis, with no advance registration required. Families interested in accessibility accommodations, including ASL interpretation, are encouraged to contact the museum in advance.
