Family Program: Birthday Bash at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History in Hartford invites families to celebrate its 200th birthday with a special Birthday Bash on Saturday, June 28, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. This free event features a day full of crafts, games, sweet treats, and the launch of the museum’s brand new children’s book, The Key to Adventure.

Inspired by real artifacts from the museum’s collection, the book follows the journey of a curious young girl named Prudence. Families can step into her imaginative world through an immersive exhibit-on-wheels created in partnership with cARTie, a traveling art museum on a bus. Visitors will also enjoy a museum-wide scavenger hunt, hands-on craft activities, and interactive games.

Story time takes place at the top of every hour, followed by a book signing with author Rebecca Gavin and illustrator Mya Concepcion, both of whom are members of the museum’s educational staff. Each family will receive one free copy of The Key to Adventure to take home.

Guests may register for either a morning session (11:00 am to 1:30 pm) or an afternoon session (1:30 pm to 4:00 pm). Admission is free, but reservations are encouraged to ensure space.

The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History is located at 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford, Connecticut. For more information or to reserve tickets, visit connecticutmuseum.org or contact Katerina Mazzacane at 860-236-5621 x222 or kmazzacane@connecticutmuseum.org.
