Family Craft Workshop: Fairy Tails at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

Creativity and imagination come together during the Family Craft Workshop: Fairy Tails at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History on July 30, 2026.
Led by calligrapher Debby Reelitz, this hands-on workshop introduces participants to the tradition of decorative lettering while guiding them through the creation of their own whimsical “Fairy Tail” letter. Each participant will choose a letter and a creature, then use tracing, decorating, and coloring techniques to design a fanciful work of art where the letter and critter are creatively intertwined.
No previous drawing or lettering experience is necessary, making the workshop accessible to beginners and experienced artists alike. Designed for ages 5 and older, the program encourages children and adults to participate together and create side by side.
Snacks and juice will be available from 3:30 pm to 4 pm, followed by the workshop from 4 pm to 5 pm. The event takes place at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford, CT 06105.
Space is limited, and advance registration is required. The registration fee includes all materials, snacks, and refreshments.
