Family Activity Kits – New Theme! at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

July 1
Family Activity Kits – New Theme! at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

Families can explore Connecticut history from home with the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History’s Family Activity Kits, featuring a new theme beginning July 1, 2026.

Designed as free take-home resources, these kits combine history, creativity, and hands-on learning for children and families. The July–August theme, “Moving Right Along to CT,” explores immigration throughout Connecticut’s history and encourages participants to discover more about their own family stories. Activities include crafts, interactive projects, and opportunities to create maps of the communities and places that are meaningful to them.

Each kit contains crafts, hands-on activities, and images from the museum’s collections centered around the featured theme. Themes change every other month, providing new ways for families to engage with history throughout the year.

Please note that this is not an on-site program. Family Activity Kits are available for pickup during all museum open hours beginning July 1, 2026, at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford, CT 06105. Kits are included with the cost of museum admission, and no advance reservation is required.
