SUMMARY:Fairfield University Theatre Presents tick\, tick...BOOM! at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts
DESCRIPTION:Fairfield University Theatre’s 2026 Student Independent Project brings tick\, tick…BOOM! to the stage in the Wien Experimental Theatre at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts\, 1073 North Benson Road\, Fairfield\, CT 06824. Performances will be held Thursday\, February 26 at 7:30 pm; Saturday\, February 28 at 7:30 pm; and Sunday\, March 1 at 2 pm. \nWritten by Jonathan Larson and revised by David Auburn\, tick\, tick…BOOM! is a powerful\, semi-autobiographical musical set in 1990s New York City. The story follows Jon\, a young composer grappling with ambition\, relationships\, and the fear that time is slipping away before artistic success arrives. Intimate yet electric\, the show explores creativity\, friendship\, self-doubt\, and the urgency of pursuing one’s dreams while confronting life’s inevitable questions. \nThis year’s Student Independent Project is co-directed and co-produced by Jacobo Marino-Fernandez ’28. A hallmark of the Fairfield University Theatre Program\, the Student Independent Project gives students the opportunity to lead a fully realized production from concept to performance\, fostering artistic growth and hands-on experience in directing\, producing\, and performance. The 2026 production is supported in part by funding from the Jamie Hulley Arts Foundation. \nThe cast features Jacob Chaffee ’28 as Jon\, Anthony Lupercio ’26 as Michael\, Cassandra Arena ’28 as Susan\, and Kylee Faulkner ’26 as Karessa\, with Matthew Bulger ’28 understudying Jon and David Ilagan ’29 understudying Michael. \nFor full details\, tickets\, and more information\, visit quickcenter.fairfield.edu.
