Fairfield Museum Walking Tours

Join Fairfield Museum this summer for one (or more) of their amazing outdoor Walking Tours. Learn about the fascinating colonial history of Fairfield, including the establishment of the town’s original “four squares” in 1639, the historic British invasion of 1779,  the “witch dunking experiment” at Edward’s Pond and so much more!

On the schedule this week: Saturday, August 1, 10:00 am: Walking Tour of Museum Commons, including Sun Tavern, Victorian Cottage and Barn.

Are you interested in learning more about the history of Fairfield and the surrounding area? Join us for a guided tour of the Town Hall Green and learn about the people, places, and events that took place right under your feet! Learn about a Native prehistoric village, the 1639 town center, “witch ducking experiments,” the Revolutionary War battleground, and the Burr Homestead, where John Hancock married Dorothy Quincy. These stories, and more, await on a fascinating journey through time.
