Exploring-art-ism: Tell a Story with Pictures at Yale Center for British Art

The Yale Center for British Art in New Haven will present Exploring-art-ism: Tell a Story with Pictures on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:30 am to 12 pm.

Inspired by the exhibition William Blake: Burning Bright, this free program invites families with children aged five to twelve with autism or other sensory processing differences to create their own stories through drawing, writing, and collage. Participants will engage with artwork in the galleries before completing a hands-on project in a museum classroom.

Designed to be inclusive and welcoming, this program is also enjoyable for parents, caregivers, siblings, and other family members. Developed in consultation with the Yale Child Study Center, Exploring-art-ism provides a supportive environment that blends art appreciation with creative expression.

The program takes place in the fourth-floor galleries of the Yale Center for British Art, located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission is free, but registration is required. For more information and to register, visit britishart.yale.edu.
