Exploring Art-ism: Listening to Quiet Pictures at the Yale Center for British Art

Families can experience art in a new way during Exploring Art-ism: Listening to Quiet Pictures at the Yale Center for British Art. This sensory-friendly program invites participants to imagine the sounds hidden within quiet artworks and create handmade sound effects to bring the pictures to life. Noise-reduction earmuffs are available to ensure a comfortable environment for all.

Designed for families with children aged five to twelve with autism or other sensory processing differences, this free program includes guided exploration in the galleries and a hands-on art activity in a museum classroom. The session offers a fun, inclusive experience for parents, caregivers, siblings, and relatives alike.

The event takes place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Yale Center for British Art, 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Registration is required through the museum’s Education Department.
