Exploring Art-ism at Yale Center for British Art

Families with children ages 5 to 12 who have sensory processing differences can take part in Exploring Art-ism, a free program at the Yale Center for British Art on Saturday, October 24, from 10:30 am to noon. Designed for children on the autism spectrum and those with sensory-processing needs, the program offers an opportunity to experience art in a welcoming, supportive museum environment.
Participants explore artworks in the galleries, experiment with materials, and create a hands-on project in a museum classroom. A designated Quiet Room with sensory toys and blankets is also available. While the program prioritizes the needs of children with sensory processing differences, parents, siblings, and other family members can enjoy the experience together.
The program is conducted by the Yale Center for British Art’s education department in consultation with the Yale Child Study Center. Admission is free, and registration is required.
