Exploring-art-ism: A Program for Children with Sensory Processing Differences at Yale Center for British Art

Children ages five to twelve with sensory processing differences and their families are invited to the Yale Center for British Art on Saturday, May 24 at 10:30 am for a free, inclusive museum program designed to foster creativity and connection.

“Exploring-art-ism” offers participants a chance to explore the museum’s collection in a welcoming and supportive environment. This session will focus on artworks that depict ocean waves, encouraging children to discover their own artistic approach to drawing waves, inspired by past masters. Activities are designed to support social skill development and sustained engagement, with follow-up art-making and a quiet space equipped with sensory toys available throughout the program.

The program is facilitated by YCBA educators in consultation with the Yale Child Study Center to ensure an accessible and meaningful experience for all participants.

The Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission to this program is free and no registration is required.
