Experiences at the Bruce: Documentary Film: 9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero at Bruce Museum

Explore the story of New York City’s rebuilding efforts following the September 11 attacks during Experiences at the Bruce: Documentary Film: 9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero at Bruce Museum on Saturday, September 19, from 2–4 pm.

The documentary examines how, after the attacks and the clearing of the rubble, thousands of New Yorkers gathered for a historic town hall to respond to fast-tracked redevelopment plans. More than 5,000 people came together to consider proposals for rebuilding Ground Zero, ultimately rejecting a top-down approach and helping shape a new path forward. The film explores how their efforts influenced what stands at Ground Zero today and what their story reveals about democracy.

The film begins promptly at 2 pm and will be followed by a discussion with Executive Producer Carolyn Lukensmeyer.

Admission is free, but registration is required through the Avon website only.

Bruce Museum is located at 1 Museum Drive, Greenwich, CT 06830.
