Elf on the Elgin 303 at Connecticut Trolley Museum

Families can experience a nostalgic holiday adventure aboard the Chicago, Aurora & Elgin Railroad #303, a beautifully restored historic trolley known as the “Roarin’ Elgin” or the “Great Third Rail.” This festive ride features hot chocolate served in a souvenir cup, a cookie, and a candy cane, all shared with passengers by two cheerful holiday elves. As the trolley loops around, children can write letters to Santa, which will be gathered and delivered to Santa’s mailbox inside the Visitor Center. After the ride, guests are welcome to explore the Visitor Center’s seasonal displays before the next departure.

Elf on the Elgin takes place on December 14, 2025, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and is held rain or shine. Advance ticket purchases are strongly recommended to ensure availability, as walk-ins can only be accommodated if space allows.
